Interested in becoming a volunteer, mentor, or ACADEMIC COACH?
We need you!!!
The volunteer application is now available for the 2015-2016 school year. Start dates for volunteering on campuses will not begin until September. If you would like to volunteer with CISNT and work with students on campus, please visit our volunteer information page listed on our website's homepage . www.cisnt.org
There are several ways you can volunteer with CISNT at NHS:
Be a Mentor. You will be paired with a student to meet one-on-one each week for 45 minutes to one hour. This is a wonderful way to provide guidance, support, and encouragement to a student on a consistent basis. This is the biggest volunteer need here at Northwest HS CIS! Male mentors would be especially appreciated. Teachers are welcome to be mentors as well, if you feel led to volunteer your lunch period once a week to meet with a CIS student.
Be an Academic Coach. You have the opportunity to work with students who are struggling academically on educational activities in an individual or group setting.
Be a Special Event Volunteer. You can help out with events like the Back to School Fair, Holiday Assistance, Health Fair, Field Trips, etc. and play an important role in planning and/or implementing the services provided for that event.
Here is the process for becoming a volunteer with CIS:
- Go to CISNT Volunteer Application to apply. Complete the application and select a date to attend the New Volunteer Orientation.
- Attend the Orientation if you’re new to CISNT’s volunteer process
- You will be notified by the volunteer coordinator that your application has been processed and background check completed. The school Site Coordinator will contact you to set up a meeting on campus.
- You will be matched with a student(s) or assigned your tasks for the event...You're ready to start!
Donations to CIS are always welcome. If you (or your student organization) would like to donate any money, food items, school supplies, or hygiene items, please contact me before you start collecting donations. I am glad to coordinate with you!
