Rubrics

A rubric is a scoring tool for subjective assignments. It is a set of criteria and standards linked to learning objectives that are used to assess student performance on papers, projects, essays, presentations and other assignments. Scoring rubrics will be provided no less than a week before the due date and typically be discussed soon after a project is launched. The STEM Academy grading rubrics addresses critical thinking, use of technology, oral communication, written communication teamwork and team management.

Rubrics should be used as a road map to the end product. Students will have advanced knowledge of expectations for the final product and presentation. The scoring rubric will be used to provide feedback during benchmark turn-in and practice presentations. Students should use the feedback provided during benchmarks to improve their final product before the due date.
