David A. Barnes

I graduated for Leon High School, Tallahassee, FL in 1987.  I enlisted in the Navy fresh out of high school.  I was stationed in Great Lake, IL and Pearl Harbor, HI.  I served in the 1st Gulf War on the U.S.S. Worden CG-18.  After my discharge in 1991, I attended Tallahassee Community College (AA) and Florida State University (BA) in History.  I returned to Florida State University for my (MA) in Social Science Education.  I married my wife Shareen in 1999, we have a dog and a cat.  I have 15 years of teaching and coaching experience.  I spent my first  13 years of teaching and coaching in Florida.  Two years ago my wife and I moved to Texas.  Northwest High school is my first teaching and coaching job in Texas.  I currently teach U.S. History and coach the defensive line on the varsity football team.

Achievements

I wrote the Integrated Social Science curriculum for the Florida State University High School.

Head Baseball Coach at Wewahitchka High School. The 1st game I ever coached as a head coach was a 10-0 no hitter.  The team went to the regional semi-finals in 2013.
